"As We See It"

Every so often Mr. Bill Lane (self-proclaimed "representative" of the residents of County District 5) writes a lovely, fluff piece of un-digestible propaganda in either the Osceola News-Gazette or Saint Cloud in the News. We here at WW headquarters can't help but wonder if these "As I See It" articles that are being published during a campaign season while Mr. Lane is a filed candidate for public office pushes the legality of "fair and equal time" that must be given to all candidates by these news sources. We've looked, and no other candidates in District 5 or any District races for that matter have been given any headline space or "As I See It" time in either of the news papers.

Maybe just a lowly letter to the editor here and there but nothing with their own paper space. "There's no media bias," some my say. Well, for now we will beg to differ. But, we can fully understand this from these two media outlets that have consistently taken liberal positions on wasting the tax-payers' money; so it would make perfect sense that these liberal papers would have an obvious slant towards Liberal Lane (as he's called in District 5). He is very experienced at wasting the tax-payers' money.

Well, that?s how we see it anyway.

then I guess, according to you, they will love Van Meter. Why did her website, published by chamber of coomerce, be for city commissioner and not county? why is there no disclaimer? Oh well. she loves fountains. and taxes. and herself.......

They were for Government Subsidized Housing.

They were for spending all that money on Light Rail.

They printed every thought from local officials on why the tax cuts were bad, with no information on the opposite side of the arguement.

They have supported every tax increase that has been up for a vote in the past 10 years.

They always support more money for social programs and attack politicans who are against giving the programs more tax money.

Yeah, liberal is one way to describe them.

The papers only care about selling ad space. I am suprised that they would give up any space at all that might lose them an ad or two.

I have not received a Gazette since before Christmas and I don't even miss it.

Wayne,

After reading your article on the ONG attacking the group Poinciana Vision, I can not say that I am suprised by any of this. This paper has been very pro-government and government control for some time now. I just find it amazing how much slips by them that never makes it into their paper. I am just glad that WFTV is finally putting some energy down here.

I am not sure "liberal" is the term I would use for the News Gazette. I think "Pointless" fits the bill. On issue after issue and in article after article they cover only the surface of any issue.

As far as old Bill writing his columns, it is obvious they are going to support him any way. They need to keep publishing his articles, they are always good for a laugh.

Did you honestly think the liberal Osceola media would break ranks with the County Commission on any issues? That would make them free thinking independent reporters. They would be the brave and bucksome field agents for truth that follow politicians around holding them accountable to the people. You know the stuff fiction is made of.
